Philippine National Police (PNP) chief Torre III is getting ready for his charity boxing match against Davao City acting Mayor Baste Duterte.
Torre hit the local boxing gym on Thursday, sharpening his punches and tightening his footwork ahead of the bout against the son of the former President Rodrigo Duterte. A video clip of the police chief in training mode has been shared on social media.
The country’s top cop earlier accepted Duterte’s challenge to a fistfight, but suggested a 12-round boxing match to raise funds for the flood victims. PNP chief Torre suggested the Sunday match be held at the Araneta Coliseum in Quezon City.
Senator Panfilo Lacson also revealed that the owner of a popular casino hotel has offered to be the venue of the Duterte-Torre boxing match.
