As per the 10:47 pm tally on Monday, May 12, re-electionist Senator Bong Go is leading the race to the Senate, with 25,270,001 votes.
Go, who is part of the slate of the camp of former President Rodrigo Duterte, is joined by his fellow members in the Magic 12, alongside Sen. Bato dela Rosa (#3), Rep. Rodante Marcoleta (#6), Rep. Camille Villar (#10), and Sen. Imee Marcos (#11).
The Alyansa Para sa Bagong Pilipinas of the Marcos, Jr. administration has also fielded key positions in the Top 12, with Rep. Erwin Tulfo at number 4, ex-Senators Ping Lacson and Tito Sotto at ranks 7 and 8, Sen. Pia Cayetano at the 9th spot, and Sen. Lito Lapid at twelfth.
In a stunning turn of events, meanwhile, former Senators Bam Aquino and Kiko Pangilinan, who are aligned with the Pink movement that began during the candidacy of ex-Vice Ptesident Leni Robredo for President in 2022, is also looking to get their seats back in the Senate.
Aquino secured the second spot, with 19,867,063 votes, a stellar performance noting that he had consistently been ranking in the tail end of the Magic 12 or hovered slightly below it in pre-election surveys.
The same is true for Pangilinan, whom at fifth place, has secured over 14.5 million votes so far.
